Who We Serve
The children come from vulnerable communities – some residing in red-light districts, many in slums, and others experiencing homelessness. Their challenges are compounded by their refugee status, dysfunctional family dynamics, struggles to meet basic needs and limited access to education.
Children and youth without quality education opportunities.
Local volunteers supporting vulnerable children.
School teachers in underserved communities.
The Landscape: Education
Even for those fortunate enough to attend school, many lack the quality education necessary for future success.
Identified challenges include:
-
Shortage of qualified teachers, most of whom must teach subjects they are unfamiliar with, such as English.
-
Insufficient funding for professional development, resulting in ineffective teaching methods that impede student engagement and learning outcomes.
-
Limited and outdated learning resources, posing additional challenges for both teachers and students.
-
Students often shoulder parental responsibilities, hindering regular school attendance.
The Landscape: Technology
The children lack access to technology and stable, affordable internet connection.
While some families may have budget-friendly Android smartphones that children can use, many of them do not have digital literacy skills. As a result, they are unable to engage with technology in a productive and meaningful manner to support their education pursuits.
